This article outlines the steps to troubleshoot issues when you are unable to start a charging session at Virta charging stations. Follow these steps to resolve common problems and get back on the road.

What You Need:

  1. Access to the Virta mobile app or an RFID tag
  2. Charging cable
  3. Valid payment method on your Virta account

Troubleshooting Steps

Check Cable Connection

  • Ensure the cable is properly connected to both the charging station and your vehicle.
  • Sometimes re-plugging the cable can solve the issue.

Authenticate with RFID

  • If using an RFID card or keyring, try authenticating at the charging station again.
  • Hold your RFID tag close to the reader and wait for confirmation.

Restart the Mobile App

  • If using the mobile app, close and restart the app.
  • Attempt to start the charging event again.

Check Account Balance and Payment Information

  • Ensure your account balance is sufficient and your payment card information is up to date.
  • If your prepaid account balance is below €10, you must have a valid payment card attached. Starting a charging event will trigger an automated top-up from your card.

Verify Access Permissions

  • Some chargers are private and require permission from the charge point owner.
  • If you believe you should have access, contact the charger owner.

Check Station Power and Report Faults

  • If the station does not seem to have power or appears faulty, report the issue following the guidance in this article.
